Certified Mold Remediation

If you have a mold problem, you most likely will want the right person to do the work. That person should be certified, licensed, and  competent. There are a lot of companies out there that say they are certified in mold remediation. The question becomes- by who? There are online “classes” that a person can take in a few hours and become certified. Is this really what you want? Several states such as Texas and Florida now require that a mold remediation company become certified by the state. Standardization, in this case, is a good thing for the consumer. As a consumer you know that all persons calling themselves certified mold remediators will be just that. NC does not have this standard. So there is the ability for a person to become certified without the real knowledge of what it takes to do proper mold remediation. The bottom line for a consumer in NC is to ask where the certifications come from. If they are not from the IICRC or the IAQA, they are not the real, knowledge based certifications. Choose wisely and know that RCS carries IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration, Odor Control, Advanced Structual drying, and Mold Remediation.
